ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Economic

Economics is like when you are trying to decide what to do with the 5 dollars your mom gave you for doing chores. You can choose to buy a toy, some candy or save it for later to buy something bigger.

But in the bigger world, economics is about how people make choices about using things like money, resources, and time. It's important for governments and businesses so they can make smart choices that are good for everyone.

For example, a business might decide to make more of something that people really like, like ice cream, because they know people will buy it. They also have to think about how much it costs to make the ice cream and how much they can sell it for to make a profit.

On the other hand, government leaders have to think about how to use resources and money to help people, like building roads and schools, or providing healthcare or clean water to everyone.

So economics is all about making choices, thinking about the costs and benefits, and trying to do what is best for everyone!
