Economic abuse

Economic abuse is a form of abuse in which one person uses money or resources as a way to control another person. They will typically control the finances of the other person, such as giving them an allowance or making all the decisions on spending without consulting the other person. They might also stop them from getting or keeping a job, or take their money away from them. Economic abuse can leave victims feeling like they are trapped in a dangerous situation, because the person in control holds all of the financial power.
