Economic, social and cultural (ESC) rights are rights that all people have that give us access to the basic things we need to live happy, healthy lives.
Economic rights means people can have enough money to buy food, clothes and a place to live. Social rights are things like being able to go to school, have healthcare and not be discriminated against. Cultural rights are the right to practice your religion and language or create art without being judged or punished.
Together these rights form an important part of the human rights that all people should be treated equally and fairly. They give everyone the same chances to succeed, no matter their background or beliefs.
