ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Edition (book)

Okay kiddo, imagine you love a storybook so much that you want to keep reading it over and over again. But one day, you heard from your friend that there's a newer version of that book out there.

This newer version is called an edition of the book. An edition is like a different version of the same book. It might have some changes, like more pictures or updated information. It could also be printed in a different way or have a different cover.

Sometimes the publishers of a book will make a new edition every few years to keep the book up to date, fix any mistakes, or make improvements.

So if you have an edition of a book, it might be different in some ways from the one your friend has. But it's still the same story you love to read, just with a few changes.
