ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Education research

Hey there little one!

You know how sometimes mommy and daddy ask you questions about school and homework? And sometimes your teachers give you tests to see how much you learned?

Well, there are some grown-ups that want to figure out the best ways for teachers to teach you, and for you to learn better. They do this by doing something called education research.

These grown-ups go to school and study all sorts of things about learning, like how your brain works when you’re learning new things or how different teaching methods affect how much you remember.

They might watch videos of teachers in the classroom or give kids like you special tools to use during class to see if it helps you learn better.

Then, they write up everything they learned and share it with teachers and other grown-ups who work in schools so they can use this information to make sure you and all the other kids are getting the best possible education.

Does that make sense, little one?
