Eight disciplines problem solving

Eight Disciplines Problem Solving (8D) is a process used to identify and solve problems. It consists of eight steps designed to lead a team through the entire problem-solving process. 8D helps teams work together to identify and solve a problem quickly and efficiently.

The eight steps of 8D are:

1. Form a team: Gather a team of people with the right knowledge and skills to help solve the problem.

2. Clarify the problem: Describe the problem in detail, including all factors related to it.

3. Establish short-term and long-term goals: Set goals to solve the problem in the short-term and long-term.

4. Develop a plan: Generate ideas to solve the problem, then create a plan to test those ideas.

5. Implement the plan: Carry out the plan and evaluate if it solved the problem.

6. Monitor and verify: Monitor the issue to ensure the problem has been resolved.

7. Recognize and celebrate success: Celebrate any successes when the team successfully solves the problem.

8. Document the results: Document all the steps that the team took to solve the problem.
