Elasticity of a function

Elasticity measures how flexible something is. For a math function, it measures how much the output of the function changes when you change the input. For example, if you double the input of the function, how much does the output change? If the output doubles too, then the function is said to be "elastic." If the output only increases a little bit, then the function is said to be "inelastic."
