Okay kiddo, so you know how when we have a big group of people, sometimes we like to split them up into smaller groups to make things easier?
Well, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta is a big group, too, but instead of just regular people, it's made up of important people who help others in need. They're kind of like superheroes!
Now, because there are so many of these important people, they need to be organized into smaller groups called electoral districts. These districts are basically like little sections of the big group, and each one has its own leader who helps make important decisions.
Each district is made up of a certain number of members, and they get together to vote for their leader. But here's the really important part: each district has to be fair and equal. That means that each district has to have the same number of members, so that everyone has an equal say and no one group can be more powerful than another.
So electoral districts are just a way of breaking up a big group into smaller, more manageable pieces, so that everyone can have a voice and things can be fair. And the Sovereign Military Order of Malta uses them to help its important members work together and make decisions.
