Electrodeionization

Electrodeionization, also called EDI, is like magic cleaning for water!

When we turn on a faucet at home, we get water that has a lot of things mixed in - like minerals, salts, and other impurities. But, with EDI, we can make the water super clean by using electricity!

EDI works by using two types of special layers, called membranes, to filter and clean the water. The first type of membrane holds back large particles like minerals, while the second membrane has special ions that attract impurities and trap them.

Then, we use electricity to push the impurities out of the water and into a special chamber where they can't harm the water anymore. The pure, clean water flows out of the other end of the EDI system, ready to use for things like making medicine or food!

So, electrodeionization is like a powerful cleaning machine that uses electricity to remove impurities from water and make it super clean!
