Electrodialysis

Okay kiddo, let's talk about something called electrodialysis. Do you know what electricity is? It's a type of energy that flows through wires and powers our lights, computers, and other things.

Now, imagine you have a glass of water with some salt in it. Have you ever tasted salt water at the beach? It doesn't taste very good, does it? That's because the salt makes it taste bad.

Electrodialysis is a way to remove salt and other particles from water using electricity. We use a special machine that has two chambers separated by something called membranes.

The membranes are like filters that only allow certain things to pass through. Some chambers have membranes that only allow positive particles to pass through and some have membranes that only allow negative particles to pass through.

So, when we turn on the electricity, the positive particles in the water move towards the negative chamber and the negative particles move towards the positive chamber. This separates the salt and other particles from the water. The clean water can be used for drinking, cooking, and other things.

So, that's electrodialysis! It's a way to clean water by using electricity to separate the salt and other particles from it.
