Salinity gradient power

Salinity gradient power is a type of energy that we can get from the natural differences in salt levels in different bodies of water. Normally, salt levels are higher in the oceans than in lakes or rivers, and this difference in salt levels can be used to generate energy. Basically, when you have two different bodies of water with different salt levels, a machine called an osmotic power plant can use that difference in salt levels to generate electricity. In the osmotic power plant, freshwater and seawater are put into two different tanks that are separated by a special membrane. When the salt levels are different on both sides, pressure builds up. This pressure can be used to move a turbine and generate electricity.
