Electronic civil disobedience

Electronic civil disobedience is a way for people to get involved in protest and activism without necessarily being in the same physical place. It uses technology and internet to call attention to issues or causes, in order to create change or bring about awareness. For example, online petitions can be used to gather signatures from citizens all over the world in support of a cause or issue. People can also use things like boycotts of certain companies or products, or virtual campaigns or protests by posting information online and using social networks to reach a broader audience. Some electronic civil disobedience tactics can also include blocking access to websites or disrupting services, in order to make a statement.
