Electrophysiology is a science that studies the electrical signals in our body. Our bodies produce electricity, and this electricity helps your brain, heart, and muscles to send messages and tells them what to do. We use special machines called electrocardiography (ECG) to measure this electricity, and these machines help doctors diagnose diseases of the heart and other parts of the body. ECGs can also help us see how well certain treatments are working by looking at how the electricity in our body reacts to the treatment.
