Electroretinography

Electroretinography (ERG) is like taking a picture of your eye's reaction to light. To do this, a special machine called an ERG machine is used. First, you will sit down in a dark room with electrodes on your skin and a tiny clip on your eye. The clip will feel weird, but it doesn't hurt.

Then, a special light will flash in your eye and your eye will respond and send signals to your brain through your nerves. The electrodes on your skin will pick up those signals and send them to the ERG machine.

The ERG machine will then measure those signals and make a graph or chart for the doctor to study. From this graph or chart, doctors can see how well your eye is working and tell if there are any problems that need to be fixed.

So, that's basically what ERG is. It's a test to see if your eyes are working well and if there are any problems that need to be fixed. Remember, it's important to take care of our eyes and get them checked regularly!
