ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Emerging church

The emerging church is a group of people who believe in God but want to practice their faith in new and different ways. Imagine you are playing with blocks, and you want to stack them up differently each time. That's what the emerging church does with their faith. They try new things, like meet in coffee shops instead of churches, make art and music about God, and focus on helping others instead of just talking about Jesus.

They also believe that asking questions and being open-minded is important, so they don't always follow the exact same rules as other churches. Imagine if you and your friends were trying to build a tower out of blocks, but you didn't follow the rules exactly. Maybe you used different-sized blocks or put them in different spots. The emerging church does something similar with their faith. They use the blocks, but they build something new and unique.
