Enfleurage is a way of making really nice and yummy-smelling things from flowers.
First, you pick some flowers that smell really good. We will use roses as an example.
Next, we take a tray with some special fat on it, let's say butter. We spread the butter all over the tray, using a knife or spoon.
Then, we put a single layer of rose petals on top of the butter, making sure they are nice and flat. We do this over and over again, layer upon layer, until the tray is full of rose petals.
Now, we leave the tray in a cool and dark place, like a fridge. Over many days, the rose petals slowly start to give their lovely scent to the butter, making it smell really good!
Once the scent has been absorbed, we can scrape the butter off the tray and use it to make yummy things like cakes or cookies. We can also use it to make perfumes and other nice-smelling things.
So, enfleurage is a way of getting lovely scents from flowers and infusing them into things like butter or oils. It's like making magic rose butter that smells amazing!
