English riding

Ok kiddo, here is everything you need to know about English riding!

English riding is a way of riding horses. It's different from other kinds of horse riding, like Western riding. The way you sit on the horse and the things you use to control the horse are different in English riding.

When you ride a horse English, it means you sit up straight on the horse's back. You don't lean back like in some other kinds of horse riding. You put your feet in stirrups, which are special things that hang down from the sides of the horse. The stirrups help you keep your feet in place so you can control the horse better.

You also hold the reins in your hands to control the horse. The reins are thin straps that attach to the horse's head. You pull on the reins to tell the horse what to do. For example, when you want the horse to stop, you pull back on the reins.

In English riding, there are different ways to ride a horse. This is called different "disciplines" of English riding. One discipline is called jumping. In jumping, you and your horse ride over fences or other obstacles. Another discipline is called dressage. In dressage, you and your horse do fancy movements that show off how well trained you both are.

People ride horses English for lots of reasons. Some people ride for fun, while others ride to compete in shows. Either way, it's important to learn how to ride safely and be kind to your horse.

So that's English riding in a nutshell, kiddo!
