Enterolith

Okay kiddo, we're going to talk about something called an enterolith. You know how we eat food and our body digests it to get energy and nutrients? Well, sometimes, little pieces of undigested food or other things like hair or medication can get stuck in our intestines and form a hard, little ball called an enterolith.

This little ball can be kind of like a rock and it can cause some problems. It can get stuck in our intestines and block our poop from coming out. This is called an intestinal obstruction and it can be very painful. Sometimes, we might need to go to the doctor to have the enterolith removed so we can poop again.

Enteroliths are pretty rare and mostly happen in older people or people with certain medical conditions. It's important to eat a healthful diet and stay hydrated to help prevent enteroliths from forming. And if you ever feel like you have a blockage in your belly, be sure to tell a grown-up right away so they can get you the help you need!
