Environmental effects of aviation

Planes are one of the most common ways for people to travel across the world. But planes also have environmental effects. The main environmental effect from planes is air pollution. This is because planes burn a lot of fuel in order to keep them in the air and moving. Burning this fuel produces smog, which is like a big, smoky cloud that can contain harmful particles and chemicals that can damage the environment. The smog can also cause problems like smog-filled skies, acid rain, and global warming (where the Earth's temperature rises because of too much greenhouse gas in the atmosphere). To reduce these environmental effects, airlines are working on more fuel-efficient engines, lighter aircraft design, and new fuels.
