Epiglottal trill

Okay, so you know that your voice comes from your throat, right? Well, sometimes when people sing, they use a special technique called a trill. A trill is when you make a fast, repeating sound like a bird or a cricket.

Now, the epiglottis is a special flap of skin in your throat that helps you swallow. When you swallow, it covers up your windpipe so the food doesn't go down the wrong way. But when you sing an epiglottal trill, you make the epiglottis vibrate really fast, almost like a little drum. This makes a very unique and special sound that not many people can do.

So, next time you hear someone doing an epiglottal trill, you'll know that they're using a special technique with their throat to make a cool, vibrating sound.
