ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Esperanto profanity

So, you know how there are some words that are not nice to say? Like "poopy" or "buttface"? Well, those words are called "bad words" or "swear words".

When people speak in Esperanto, they also have bad words that they use to express anger or frustration. But instead of saying "poopy" or "buttface", they might say things like "fek!" or "kapo de turko!" which mean "shit!" or "Turkish head!" (which is a rude insult in Esperanto).

Now, just because these words exist in Esperanto, it doesn't mean you should go around saying them all the time. It's still important to be respectful and use kind words when talking to other people. Plus, using swear words can get you into trouble with adults and might hurt other people's feelings. The best thing to do is just use nice words, even if you are feeling angry or upset.
