Ethnic groups of Pakistan

Pakistan is a country in Asia, and within this country, there are many different groups of people who have their own unique customs, beliefs, and traditions. These groups are called ethnic groups.

Some of the major ethnic groups in Pakistan include Punjabis, Sindhis, Balochs, Pashtuns, and Mohajirs.

Punjabis are the largest ethnic group in Pakistan and mainly live in the Punjab province. They speak Punjabi language and are known for their love of food, music, and dance.

Sindhis mainly live in the Sindh province and speak Sindhi language. They are known for their colorful cultural traditions, such as Ajrak (a type of cloth), kite flying, and Sufi music.

Balochs are mainly found in Balochistan province and speak Balochi language. They are known for their traditional nomadic way of life, camel riding, and handicrafts.

Pashtuns, also known as Pathans, mainly live in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and speak Pashto language. They are known for their hospitality, bravery, and love for their traditional dress, such as the Shalwar Kameez.

Mohajirs are people who migrated to Pakistan from India at the time of independence in 1947. They live mainly in urban areas and speak Urdu language. They are known for their contribution to Pakistan's economy and literature.

All of these ethnic groups make up the diverse population of Pakistan and contribute to its rich cultural heritage and traditions.
