Etruscan language

Do you know how there are different languages spoken by people? Like some people speak English, some people speak Spanish or French? Well, a long time ago, there were people who lived in a place called Etruria, which is now Italy, and they had their own language called Etruscan.

Just like how you learn your ABCs and then use those letters to make words, the Etruscans had their own special alphabet called the Etruscan alphabet. They would use those letters to write words and sentences in their language.

Unfortunately, not many people speak or write in Etruscan anymore because the Etruscan civilization faded away a long time ago. But there are some people called linguists who study and try to understand the Etruscan language by examining old artifacts and writing that have been discovered over time. By looking at those artifacts and writing, they can learn more about the Etruscan people and how they communicated with each other using their language.
