Eudaemon (mythology)

Eudaemon (sometimes written as Eudaimonia) is a concept from Greek mythology that means "happiness" or "well-being". The word is made up of two parts: "eu" which means good, and "daimon" which means spirit or soul. So, eudaemon means having a good or healthy spirit or soul. In Greek mythology, the gods and goddesses were supposed to help people achieve eudaemon by sending them spirits or "daemons" that would help them be happy, content, and fulfilled in life. This idea is still held in some beliefs today - that if you do good deeds and make sacrifices, the gods and goddesses will give you blessings and help you find true happiness and well-being.
