European Wars of Religion was a series of wars that happened in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. These wars were fought between different Christian religions such as Catholics and Protestants. During this time, different countries in Europe, such as England, Germany, France and the Netherlands, wanted their countries to have only one religion, and they fought each other to get their way. People who were of a different religion were persecuted and sometimes even killed because they would not change their religion. Eventually, these wars ended with a series of agreements and treaties, allowing people to practice whatever religion they choose without fear of punishment.
