English Reformation

The English Reformation was a time in the 1500s when England changed the way it practiced religion. Instead of following the Roman Catholic Church, which is what most people in Europe did, England said it wanted to be independent and practice its own kind of Christianity. This change was started by a man named King Henry VIII. because he wanted to divorce his first wife and the Roman Catholic Church wouldn't let him.
