Evolutionary psychology of language

Evolutionary psychology is the study of how traits, like language, develop through natural selection. This means that these traits are passed down through generations of people over time. Language is a trait that has evolved in order to help humans communicate with each other. Evolutionary psychologists believe that the way language has developed is due to the fact that it was useful for survival. For example, being able to communicate helped people form groups and coordinate activities more effectively, increasing their chances of survival. This is why language is found in every culture and why different languages have evolved around the world.
