Human evolution is the process by which people have changed over time. This change happens mostly through a process called "natural selection" which is like a survival competition. Every generation, some people have features that help them survive and reproduce better than other people. Those people with helpful features tend to have more children, and those children tend to inherit the helpful features. After many generations, these small changes can eventually add up to big changes in how people look and act. That's how humans evolved from more primitive ancestors to the people we know today.
