Excavations at Stonehenge

Excavations at Stonehenge mean digging and researching around the big rocks that people made a long time ago. Stonehenge is a special place made by very ancient people many, many years ago. They put up big stones that are taller than houses and arranged them in a circular pattern.

Nowadays, grown-ups who are very interested in history and how things were made a long time ago go to Stonehenge to study and learn more. They start by digging around the stones very carefully to see what is underneath the ground. They use special tools that are gentle on the ground so they don't damage anything.

The grown-ups are looking for things like ancient tools, old pots, and bones that people left behind long ago. When they find these things, they can learn more about how these ancient people lived, what they ate, how they worked, and maybe even why they built Stonehenge.

Excavations at Stonehenge help grown-ups to understand more about the past and how our world has changed over many, many years.
