Exclusionary rule

Imagine you have some toys, and you don't want anyone touching them without asking for permission. If you catch someone taking one of your toys without asking, you might tell them they can't play with any toys for a while. This is kind of like what the exclusionary rule is.

When police officers are looking for evidence in a criminal case, they have rules they need to follow. These rules make sure that they are treating people fairly and not violating their rights. If they don't follow these rules, sometimes the evidence they find can't be used in court. This is called the exclusionary rule.

The exclusionary rule is there to make sure that police officers are doing their job the right way. If they don't follow the rules, then the evidence they find might be unfair or not trustworthy. By not using this evidence, the exclusionary rule helps make sure that everyone is being treated fairly and that the legal process is working correctly.
