Parallel construction

Parallel construction is a way of putting words and ideas together so that phrases and sentences have the same shape and rhythm. It is like putting thoughts in neat lines. For example, if we want to say that we like eating apples, oranges, and bananas we might say "I like to eat apples, oranges, and bananas". Notice that all the phrases have the same structure and rhythm ("I like to eat __, __, and __")! This is parallel construction.
