Experience model

The experience model is a way to think about things you do or experience. It works by breaking things down into the different parts of what the thing you’re thinking about is. For example, when you want to go for a walk outside, the experience model might be broken down into four parts. The first part is preparation – making sure you’re ready to go for a walk outside. That could mean getting dressed, getting your water bottle ready, and packing a snack if you want one. The second part is the experience itself – the actual act of walking outside. This is what you do while you’re outside and the things you look at, the people you talk to, and the thoughts you have while you’re walking. The third part is the review – after you’re done walking, you might sit down and think about how it went. This part of the experience model includes that reflection on your walk, asking yourself if you enjoyed it and why or why not. The fourth part is the response – what will you do differently next time? Maybe you’ll make a different route, or start earlier in the day, or wear different clothes. This response part can help you plan better for your next experience. So that’s the experience model. It’s a way to think about things you do, reflect on them and learn from them so that future experiences will be better.
