ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Experimental literature

Experimental literature is like a game. Just like when we play a game where we have rules we must follow, experimental literature has rules too. But these rules might be different from what we're used to in other books we read.

In some books, we read the words and the sentences one after the other to make sense of the story. But experimental literature might have words and sentences all mixed up or might not even have any sentences at all!

It's just like a puzzle - each piece can come in different shapes and sizes and we need to figure out how they fit together. In experimental literature, we need to figure out the meaning and message behind the words, which sometimes can be tricky but also very interesting.

The author who writes experimental literature is like an artist who creates a painting or a sculptor who molds a piece of clay. They use different techniques to create something unique, beautiful or thought-provoking.

So, if you read an experimental book, remember that it's like a puzzle or a game - you need to use your brain to decipher what the author is trying to convey. It might be different from the books you're used to but it can be a lot of fun to explore new things and ideas!
