ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Extrasensory Perception (book)

Okay, so imagine you have five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. These senses help you experience the world and gather information about your surroundings. But some people believe that there is something else called "extrasensory perception" or "ESP" for short, that lets you experience things beyond what your regular senses can detect.

This means that some people might be able to see things that are invisible, or hear things that are silent, or sense things that are far away. Some people might even be able to read other people's minds or predict the future!

Now, some people don't believe in ESP because there isn't a lot of scientific evidence to support it. Scientists like to test things and gather evidence to prove that something exists, and so far, they haven't been able to really show that ESP is real. But that doesn't mean it's not possible – it's just something that some people believe in and others don't.

If you want to learn more about ESP, you could read a book about it. A book might give you more examples of what people think ESP can do and stories about people who claim to have it. But remember, not everything you read in a book is true, so it's always good to ask questions and think critically about what you're reading!
