The Earth has lots of different extremes. There are extremes in weather, like the hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded. In some parts of the world, it can get so hot that it can be hard to survive and in other parts of the world, it can get so cold that it is hard to live there.
There are also extremes in geography on Earth. There are the highest mountains and the deepest oceans. Mountains are tall, rocky landforms that reach very high above sea level and oceans are big bodies of water that are very deep beneath the surface.
The Earth also has extreme environments and climates. Some places are too dry, too cold, too hot, or too wet for people and animals to survive.
Lastly, there are extreme features on Earth, like volcanoes, geysers, and hot springs. Volcanoes are mountains that sometimes erupt and send hot lava and rocks into the air. Geysers are like volcanoes, but they send hot water and steam instead of lava and rocks. Hot springs are pools of naturally warm water.
