Eye splice

An eye splice is like making a little loop at the end of a rope without tying any knots. You take the rope and carefully weave it back on itself until it forms a circle. Then you tuck the end of the rope back into the loop you made, securing it tightly. This makes a very strong loop that won't come undone easily. People use eye splices for lots of things, like to attach ropes to boats or for climbing. It's kind of like making a magic trick knot that stays tied forever!
