Wall and crown knot

A wall knot and a crown knot are both kinds of knots that people use to tie things together. Imagine that you have a bunch of strings or ropes, and you want to tie them so that they don't come apart. The wall knot and the crown knot are two ways to do this that are different from each other.

A wall knot is kind of like making a loop with one end of the string, and then passing the other end through the loop before pulling it tight. This makes a knot that looks like a little bulb or lump in the string. It's called a wall knot because it looks like a wall sticking out from the rest of the string.

A crown knot, on the other hand, is kind of like tying a knot in a shoelace. You take one string and make a loop, then you take another string and make a loop around that loop, and then you tuck that second loop through the first loop before pulling it tight. This makes a knot that looks like a little ball or crown on top of the string.

Both kinds of knots are useful for different things. The wall knot is good for tying two strings together that are hanging down, while the crown knot is good for tying two strings together that are sticking straight up. It's important to use the right kind of knot for the job, so that it stays tied and doesn't come apart.
