Faceted classification

Faceted classification (sometimes also called faceted search) is a way of organizing information in a way that makes it easy to find. It is like having an encyclopedia with many different topics, but instead of just having the topics listed in a long list, there are different categories or “facets” that can help you group related topics together. For example, you might have a facet for history and another for nature. If you clicked on the history facet, it might have subcategories like wars, political leaders, or ancient civilizations. Clicking on a subcategory might list all the different topics related to it, so you could easily find information about a specific event or person. Faceted classification makes it easier for people to find what they are looking for faster.
