ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fairness (machine learning)

Fairness in machine learning is making sure that machines don't unfairly treat people or groups of people differently because of things like their race, gender, or religion. This means that when the machine is making decisions, it takes into account these factors and makes sure that everyone has an equal chance to benefit from the decision. For example, a machine shouldn't suggest college admission applications to one group of people more than another group because of their race or gender.
