Fallacy of the single cause

The fallacy of the single cause is when you try to explain something by giving only one cause or explanation when in fact there are usually multiple causes. For example, if you think that someone being mean to someone else is only caused by one thing (like them being jealous of the other person) when it could actually be caused by many other things (like them being frustrated or stressed out).
