ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fard

Fard is a word that's used in Islam to talk about things that Muslims are required to do. These are things like praying five times a day, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and giving to charity.

Think of it like a list of things that Muslims have to do because Allah (God) said so. It's kind of like when your parents give you a list of chores to do around the house.

If a Muslim doesn't do the fard, it's considered a sin and they might feel guilty about not following Allah's rules. But if they do it, they might feel good and get some reward from Allah for doing what they're supposed to do.

So basically, fard is a fancy word for the things Muslims have to do to be good Muslims and follow Allah's rules.
