ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Faster-than-light

Ok, so you know how cars go very fast, right? But even the fastest cars can't go faster than the speed of light. That's because the speed of light is like a big rule in the universe, kind of like how you have rules at school or at home.

But some people have been wondering if there's a way to go faster than the speed of light. And scientists have been trying to figure it out for a very long time. Some of them think that there might be a way to do it by bending space and time, sort of like how you can fold a piece of paper to make it shorter.

But even if we did figure out a way to go faster than light, it's not like you can just jump in a spaceship and take off. There would be a lot of new rules and things we would have to figure out. So for now, we can't go faster than light, but maybe someday in the future we'll find a way!
