ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fat acceptance

Okay kiddo, so you know how everyone has different bodies? Some people are tall, some people are short, and some people are big or small. Well, some people are what we call "fat," which means they have more body fat than other people.

Fat acceptance is the idea that no matter what someone's body looks like, they should be accepted and treated with kindness and respect. This means not making fun of someone for being fat, not judging them or assuming things about them based on their weight, and not discriminating against them because of their size.

Some people believe in fat acceptance because they think it's wrong to judge people based on their body size or shape. They think that everyone should be allowed to feel good about themselves, no matter what they look like.

Others believe in fat acceptance because they think it's important to focus on a person's health and happiness, rather than just their weight. They believe that people of all sizes can be healthy and happy, and that it's not fair to judge someone's health based solely on their weight.

So, in short, fat acceptance is the idea that everyone should be treated with kindness and respect, no matter what their body looks like.
