ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Father complex

A father complex is when someone has a strong emotional attachment to their father, either positive or negative. This can happen if a person's father was very loving and supportive, and they become very attached to that feeling. Or, if someone's father was strict and demanding, they might have a negative attachment to their dad and have feelings like anger, bitterness, and resentment. Everyone's experience with their dad is different, but sometimes we have strong feelings about our relationship with our dads that can affect our lives in both positive and negative ways.
