ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fathers' rights movement in the UK

When two grown-ups, a man and a woman, have a baby, they become parents. But sometimes, they might decide they don't want to be together anymore and then they might separate or get a divorce.

When this happens, the law usually says that the child should stay with the mum and the dad has to visit them at certain times.

Some dads feel like they don't get to see their children enough and they don't like it. This is called the Fathers' Rights Movement.

The Fathers' Rights Movement in the UK is a group of dads who want the law to be fairer to them. They have protests and meetings to tell people in charge to change the rules.

They want things to be different, so dads can spend more time with their children and have more say in important decisions, like where the child should go to school, what they should learn, and what doctors they should see.

Some people agree with the dads in the movement, but others think that they already have enough rights, and that children should stay with the mum most of the time because they are usually the primary caregivers.

It's a complicated topic, and there are lots of different opinions, but the important thing is that everyone wants the best for the children.
