ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Feminist theology

Feminist theology is kind of like when grown-ups talk about God and religion, but they make sure that everyone is being treated fairly and equally.

Sometimes, when people talk about God, they act like God only likes boys and men better than girls and women. But, feminist theology says that everyone is equal in the eyes of God, no matter what their gender is. And, it's important to make sure that everyone has a chance to help and serve God, not just certain people.

It's like if you were playing a game with your friends, but one of your friends always got to be the leader and make all the decisions. The other kids might feel left out or not very important. In feminist theology, everyone gets to be the leader and make decisions together, no matter what their gender is.

Feminist theology also says that women have been left out of important religious stories and roles for too long. So, it's important to make sure that girls and women are included and listened to in religious communities.

Overall, feminist theology is about making sure that everyone is treated equally and that everyone's ideas and contributions are valued, no matter what their gender is.
