Fictional character

Okay kiddo, have you ever watched a movie or read a book where there was a person, animal or thing that wasn't real but was part of the story? That's a fictional character! They are made up by the person who wrote the story to help tell the tale.

Just like how you might make up a story about a princess who lives in a castle, a grown-up can create their own story and decide who the characters in that story will be. Sometimes they might even draw a picture of what the character looks like!

Some characters can be really funny, others can be brave or smart, and some can even have special powers. But the most important thing about a fictional character is that they help us enjoy and understand the story better so we can imagine what it would be like if we were in the story too!
