ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fire and movement

Okay kiddo, let me explain fire and movement like you're five years old.

Imagine you're playing a game of tag with your friends. One of your friends is trying to tag you, but you're trying to run away from them. You decide to move quickly in one direction while also dropping small objects behind you to make it harder for your friend to catch you.

Now imagine you're a soldier on a battlefield. Your enemy is trying to shoot you, but you need to move quickly to avoid getting hit. Instead of dropping objects like in the game of tag, you use different tactics to keep moving while also avoiding getting hit.

One tactic is called "fire and movement." This means that one group of soldiers will shoot at the enemy while another group moves forward to a new location. Then, the second group shoots while the first group moves forward. This keeps going back and forth until the soldiers reach their objective or the enemy is defeated.

Just like in the game of tag, fire and movement helps soldiers move quickly while also keeping them safe by distracting the enemy. It's a very important strategy on the battlefield.
