Fire hose

Okay kiddo, do you know what a hose is? It's like a long tube that we use to move water from one place to another. Now imagine a really big hose, that's called a fire hose! Firefighters use fire hoses to help put out fires.

But how does it work? Well, the fire hose is connected to a big fire truck that has a water tank and a pump. The pump makes the water come out of the hose really fast, kind of like when you blow up a balloon and let it go really fast.

When firefighters arrive at a fire, they connect the fire hose to the truck and then they aim the water at the fire. The water helps to cool down the fire so it doesn't keep spreading.

Fire hoses can be really heavy, so firefighters need to work together to hold them up and aim them at the fire. It's important to use the fire hose carefully and follow the instructions of the firefighter leader so that everyone stays safe.

So that's the fire hose! It's a special kind of hose that helps firefighters put out fires and keep people and buildings safe.
