Fire hose thread

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a big red fire truck with a long hose spitting out water to put out fires? Well, that hose has a special part at the end called a "fire hose thread". This is where the hose connects to other things like hydrants or other hoses.

The fire hose thread is actually a special metal piece with little "teeth" on it that help it stick into other things. It's kind of like the teeth on a giant zipper. When the teeth connect with another piece with the same size and shape, they can lock together and make a strong connection.

This connection is important for firefighters because they need to be sure that water will flow smoothly through the hose without any leaks. If the connection isn't tight enough, water could leak out and make it harder to put out the fire.

So remember, when you see a fire truck with a big hose, know that the special connection at the end is called a fire hose thread, and it helps keep the water flowing to fight fires!
